This is a musical theatre revue and a fundraiser for The Little Lantern Theatre. Up to 15 performers, ages 8-18, will sing popular songs from musical theatre. For the audition, performers should come prepared with a 60-second clip of a popular musical theatre song (this may or may not be what they sing for the revue, but should be a good demonstration of their skill). Because we are limited on space, if more than 15 audition, we will need to select those who will be featured in the revue, with preference likely given to older singers who may be graduating soon.
Inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; he’ll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. But will the spirit of theatre prevail?
